ETDP SETA – Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority

The Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP SETA) is one of South Africa’s Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), established to promote excellence in education, training, skills development, and human capital development across the country.

ETDP SETA works closely with education institutions, training providers, employers, government departments, and industry stakeholders to develop highly skilled education and training professionals capable of transforming learning environments and strengthening workforce development.

Its key responsibilities include:

Developing sector skills plans aligned with national education and labour market priorities.
Supporting occupational qualifications, learnerships, internships, apprenticeships, and skills programmes.
Funding education and training initiatives that improve workforce capability.
Promoting quality teaching, facilitation, assessment, and workplace learning.
Accrediting and supporting skills development providers.
Advancing lifelong learning and continuous professional development.
Building a competent education and training workforce that contributes to South Africa’s social and economic development.

Through these initiatives, ETDP SETA plays a vital role in improving the quality of education, workplace learning, and professional training across South Africa.

As part of our commitment to excellence, Mahlori Group is accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) as a Skills Development Provider to offer the Occupational Certificate: Training and Development Practitioner. This accreditation is valid from 29 April 2025 to 28 April 2030.
